Our Event

It is with great pleasure that the City of Harvey and Distirct 205 Student Board of Education (SBOE), in partnership with the Cook County Southland Juvenile Justice Council (SJJC), invites you to the Hands Across Harvey event on Saturday, October 26, 2019, starting at 10am. This event, which will stretch across two miles, will give students, teachers, parents, and community members the platform to unite in The City of Harvey. We recognize that the views and actions of a few do not represent the overall values of the community. Our focus is to join community members to achieve one goal: UNITY.

Hands Across Harvey should lift spirits and eliminate division. During this event we will hold hands for approximately 15 minutes, to symbolize Unity In Our Community. It gives each individual a sense of fellowship, regardless of their background or culture. We will step out of our individual lives and unite as one. This symbolic event will give our community courage, power, and strength. We invite you to participate, as it shows every individual is needed to create change.

The event and rally will begin promptly at 10:00 am and conclude at 2:00 pm. Food and entertainment will be provided. Our only request is your attendance and support for the casure and efforts to bring Unity In Our Community. If you have any questions, please contact the City of Harvey at 708.210.5300 ext. 6. See you there!
